_{LIBRARY MATERIALS CHECK OUT POLICY}

_{Most books are checked out for four (4) weeks. No limit on the total number of books checked out per person at one time with these exceptions:}

_{No more than four (4) items on one subject at one time.}

_{No more than four (4) items by the same author at one time.}

_{McNaughton subscription books (best-sellers) for two (2) weeks.}

_{Encyclopedias for two (2) weeks a limit of four (4) per person/family.}

_{Books on tape, language tapes and other cassette tapes are checked out for four (4)}

_{weeks a limit of three (3) titles per person/family.}

_{Video tapes are checked out for one (1) week a limit of three (3) per person/family.}

_{Vertical File materials and maps are checked out for (2) weeks.}

_{Audio-Visual equipment is checked out overnight or on an as-needed basis up to one (1) week.}

_{Renewal policy:}

_{Patrons may renew materials by phone or in person subject to prior requests of other patrons for the materials and on extenuating circumstances.}

_{The following materials do not circulate:}

_{1. Reference items}

_{2. Microfilm and microfiche}

_{3. Genealogy materials}

_{4. Periodicals}

_{5. Southwest locked-case items}

_{Children's materials:}

_{Children's materials are subject to the general policy outlined above with these additional provisions:}

_{Puzzles and puppets are checked out for four (4) weeks with a limit of three (3) per person and six (6) per family.}

_{Book/cassette sets are checked out for four (4) weeks with a limit of three (3) per person and six (6) per family.}

_{During the Summer Reading Program the check out limit on children's books is twelve (12) per person for four (4) weeks.}

_{Fines charged by the Library:}

_{Ten cents ($.10) per item per day on overdue materials excluding days the Library is closed.}

_{Twenty-five cents ($.25) per item per day for interlibrary loans excluding days the Library is closed.}

_{Twenty-five cents ($.25) per item to replace missing/damaged date due card, book pocket or lost/stolen/washed library card if the library card is not expired.}

_{One dollar ($1.00) to replace lost plastic bag that accompanied a puppet, cassette, video, etc..}

_{Eight dollars fifty cents ($8.50) to replace lost cloth bag used for puzzles.}

_{Variable charges for damages such as writing, drawing or scribbling in a book, torn or otherwise damaged materials are determined by the Librarian based on condition.}

_{Lost materials must be paid for:}

_{The charge is based on the replacement cost of the item plus the required Gross Receipts Tax.}

_{Use your own library card:}

_{Do not loan your card to anyone else. Report lost or stolen cards to the library immediately. You are responsible for materials checked out on your library card.}

_{Check out privileges will be suspended:}

_{When a person incurs an outstanding fine or replacement cost of one dollar ($1.00) or more.}

_{Library hours:}

_{Tuesday - Thursday 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM}

_{Friday & Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM}

_{Closed Sundays & Mondays}
